Energy mobilizing against a perceived threat or injustice.
Feeling blocked from achieving something you want.
Low-grade annoyance, often a signal that something else is off.
Anger at perceived unfairness or moral violation.
Fear of losing something or someone, dressed up as anger.
Anger that's been carried — usually because something wasn't said when it mattered.
Long-held resentment that's hardened into a worldview.
Looking down on someone — anger fused with judgment of their worth.
Anger turned outward as aggression — wanting to attack or push away.
Sadness
Response to loss, disconnection, or unmet needs.
The space between expectation and reality.
A soft, lingering sadness — often without a clear cause.
Bittersweet sadness about a time that's gone.
Discomfort about something you did that violated your values.
Feeling disconnected from others, even when surrounded by people.
The painful belief that you, as a person, are bad or unworthy.
Sadness about a real loss — death, ending, identity, opportunity.
Belief that nothing can change. Often a cognitive distortion under depression.
Fear
Anticipation of potential threat or harm.
Generalized worry about future possibilities, often without a specific threat.
Belief that you don't measure up to what's required.
Fear about your worth or place — usually relational.
Exposed — emotionally open with the risk of being hurt.
Too many demands at once — beyond your current capacity.
Acute fear response — body in full alarm.
Suspicion that others are out to harm you, beyond what evidence supports.
Sensing imminent harm — physical, social, financial, or relational.
Joy
Connection, mastery, or alignment with values.
Light delight at something funny or absurd.
Quiet, undramatic okay-ness with where things are.
The settled state when nothing is pulling at you.
Quiet certainty in your capacity.
Recognition of what you've received from others or life.
Felt sense that you are seen, accepted, and held by someone.
Felt sense of accomplishment from doing something hard or meaningful.
Anticipatory energy — looking forward to something that matters.
Surprise
Unexpected information that interrupts your model of the world.
Information doesn't fit your model — and you can't yet update.
The pull to understand something new.
Loss of footing — context shifted faster than you could track.
Recognition of someone else's skill, courage, or work.
Awe — overwhelmed by something larger than expected.
Sudden, jarring information that hasn't integrated yet.
Disgust
Strong aversion — physical, moral, or aesthetic.
Pulling back emotionally — disgust expressed as withdrawal, not attack.
Mild aversion — wanting to leave or change the subject.
Internal 'no' — values being violated by someone or something.
Self-disgust at being seen in an exposed or imperfect moment.
Strong opinions about how others should be — usually saying more about you than them.
Strong physical aversion — wanting to get away.
